Rodney O. Powell is the president of Yankee Gas Services Company (Yankee Gas), a subsidiary of Northeast Utilities System (NU), headquarterd in Hartford, Connecticut. Prior to his position as President of Yankee Gas, Mr. Powell was president of Western Massachusetts Electric Company (WMECO) based in Springfield, Massachusetts and another subsidiary of NU. Prior to his career at NU, Mr. Powell was a senior staff auditor for Arthur Anderson and Company and associate director of a federally funded community health program wit the University of Connecticut Medical School. He is a graduate of Norfolk State College with a B.S. degree in accounting and has served on the CCEDA board of directors since 2001. Mr. Powell serves as Chairman of the Capital Workforce Partners and is a member of the Boards of Directors of Massachusetts Business Roundtable, Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development and the Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts.
