Rodney O. Powell was named president of Western Massachusetts Electric Company (WMECO), a subsidiary of Northeast Utilities System (NU), in 2005. Prior to his position as President of WMECO, Powell was Vice President of Customer Relations for Connecticut Light and Power, WMECO’s sister utility. Prior to his career at NU, Powell was a senior staff auditor for Arthur Anderson and Company and associate director of a federally funded community health program wit the University of Connecticut Medical School. He is a graduate of Norfolk State College with a B.S. degree in accounting and has served on the CCEDA board of directors since 2001. Powell serves as Chairman of the Capital Workforce Partners and is a member of the Boards of Directors of Massachusetts Business Roundtable, Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development and the Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts.
