Hartford 21 embraces the overall planning vision initiated by The Hartford Economic and Urban Design Action Strategy, creating a cluster of integrated, yet distinct structures that join to form a 24-hour neighborhood of housing, shops, restaurants and public spaces.

  • Hartford 21 houses 262 luxury units, 96 one-bedroom, 53 two-bedroom and four penthouse apartments in an elegant 36-story masonry and glass tower situated at the corner of Asylum and Trumbull Streets.
  • Apartments feature 9-foot ceilings, crown moldings, tiled kitchens and bathrooms, and washers and dryers. Residents enjoy 24-hour security and concierge service as well as dedicated and secure access to parking.
  • Residents enjoy exclusive access to an adjoining, fully secure parking garage, while public parking is available in a separate garage beneath the development.
  • Approximately 70,000 square feet of commercial space is located at the street level of the development. Giant glass storefronts and large ceiling heights provide maximum visibility for potential retail outlets.
  • The location is the new home of the Downtown Hartford YMCA which offers state-of-the-art facilities and training equipment, indoor track, exercise studios, basketball court, spa facilities and lounge areas and Spiritus, a premium wine shop.

A much-anticipated and desired grocery store has been added to downtown Hartford. Market at Hartford 21 opened in March of 2011. The store is owned and operated by Simsbury, Connecticut restauranteurs Ryan and Kelleanne Jones. The store has already added a boost to the City's economy with the hiring of 90-parttime workers, more than half of which are Hartford residents. Market at Hartford 21 is an essential piece to making downtown Hartford a true livable city center.

Hartford 21 is the new home of the St. Joseph College Pharmacy School. The college invested $5 million to outfit the space and has a student body of approximately 68 students, but the college believes it could grow to 300 in five years. The addition of the pharmacy school is a major contibutor to the Hartford community. The Hartford 21 location appealed to St. Joseph because of the central location, housing facilities, parking and easy access to the highways. With no cafeteria on site, students and faculty will have a variety of dining options to choose from and convenient entertaiment venues to enjoy.
